Join me at the 'American Pot Story' documentary screening June 29 in Hollywood

 Hey, hey, superfans.

Sorry for four years with no blog posts. Most of the action is on my Leafly account where I am the Senior Editor, celebrating five years at the company. (And I post to Twitter @davidrdowns, or Instagram @daviddowns pretty much daily.)

Anyhoo, hope to see you Thursday, June 29, in Hollywood at what used to be called Mann's Chinese Theater for a film festival screening of a documentary I am in: American Pot Story. Tickets are $19. Thank you to the film festival Dances with Films. Here is the trailer:

What's in it for you?
Today, there are 23 legalization states and climbing. There were zero legalization states in 2009 when we helped invent the modern cannabis journalism beat at the East Bay Express with Legalization Nation. "American Pot Story" chronicles a key period from 2010-2013 in Oakland, CA that proved pivotal to the legalization movement. If you want to know how we got from there to here, watch the film.
Shoutout Ravit Markus, the persistent producer/director. Most documentaries go nowhere. This one has already earned a ton of awards, with more to come.
You down for more personal updates? I'll get my butt in gear and do a better job here.
