I'm interested in how people respond to Greg's word on recording "normally". A classically-trained vocalist friend says it sounds pretentious.

On the other hand, Deerhoof's Saunier is an easy interview. He loves talking and is of course brilliant and hopefully you'll see the whole 8,000-word beast in The Onion one day. It might be more clear than the 800-worder. Sometimes more is more.
